Bob was a great asset to the golf team.  He excelled later in life as an accomplished amateur.  Keep it in the fairway Bob.

Bob passed away Feb 12, 2000 after a long and difficult fight with melanoma.  He was a quiet guy in high school, but had a great sense of humor.  Bob's true love in life was golf and he collectively spent years on the course!  He had the holes in one and the trophies to show for it.  Bob worked for over 20 years for Sperry as an Information Technology technician.  His spirit and tenacity fighting cancer was inspiring and he dealt with it with tremendous grace.  He was a remarkable guy.

There would be so much I could say about my good friend, Bobby Randle. A redheaded, freckled golfer, melanoma ended his life way too young. On a gurney on the way to the operating room to have a golf ball sized melanoma tumor removed from his brain, he asked the neurosurgeon what he was going to put in his head to fill the hole of the tumor. The surgeon looked at him confused. Bobby pulled out a golf ball and asked him to use that. After the surgery, he competed in the Utah State Amateur Golf Tournament. Because of his brain tumors, he had lost his balance. He would hit the ball and then fall down. Many people thought that he was drunk. He finished in the top 3 in the State! He coached youth girls basketball and was always looking for ways to give to others. The world is a better place because of Bobby Randle and so many of us are sad because of his absence from our lives.

Thanks, Lenny, for that great tribute to Bob and for sharing that fabulous story about his terrific sense of humor.  It made me laugh out loud.  He was one of a kind.
